Rauschenberg's art is always dramatic and confronting. This rare image is no exception. It was prepared for the 1972 George McGovern presidential campaign as a part of artists' participation in campaign fundraising. This print possesses Rauschenberg's characteristic signature, the date (1972) and the print and edition number (45 / 75) in pencil in the lower right. It has a Styria Atelier embossed chop in the lower left. Because it was literally utilized as a campaign poster, it is slightly soiled and has a tack hole in each corner.
