"The Champ"  1976

For over 30 years, LeRoy Neiman has created art that has appealed to the common man, both because it has its roots deep in everyman's culture, and because it is coloristic and impressionistic in an easily embraceable style.

This image entitled The Champ, is of Cassius Clay or Muhammad Ali at the height of his boxing career, having earned the title of Heavyweight Champion of the World.  Originally a quite large painting, this lithographic print was issued in a number of formats; this being essentially a signed, but unlimited edition lithograph.  Neiman has affixed his penciled signature vertically on the lower right margin.  The image is 17.5 x 23 inches on a heavy, textured paper measuring 21 x 25 inches.
It is matted to 23.5 x 30 inches and unframed. The image is near perfect.
